CO2 Compensation

Protect 10m2 of Old Finnish Forest

€5.00

The Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation (Suomen Luonnonperintösäätiö), established by the renowned author and deep ecologist Pentti Linkola in 1995, is continuously working to enlarge protected areas throughout Finland by acquiring land from both public and private property owners. They provide an opportunity for you to obtain 10m² of old-growth Finnish forest through a donation of 5 euros.

The areas that the foundation and the Nature Conservation Act safeguard include pristine forests and swamps that support various species and life stages, ranging from saplings to mature trees and decomposing ones, thus fostering a significant level of biodiversity. Ancient forests and wetlands are recognized for their ability to absorb and store substantial amounts of CO2 in both biomass and soil. Regrettably, the extent of old-growth forests in Finland is diminishing at a concerning pace, primarily due to the contemporary forestry sector. Nature is unable to defend itself from modern logging machines.

Your contribution represents a tangible step in the right direction towards a more sustainable future. Donations are made to the foundation in their entirety without any deductions. Thank you for your support!
