Why Are We Giving Free Trips to Students

Lapland Travels exists to make the Arctic feel within reach, and that mission means even more when we get to share it with the students building a life in Helsinki, in Gdańsk, and across the EU.

This giveaway is our way of doing three things we care about: celebrating our partnership with Ganglion ry, CISSI ry, and Integralis ry; giving a few students the chance to experience Lapland who might not otherwise get to; and introducing more people to what we do, and why we do it.

What's a Lapland Travels Ambassador?

Good question, and the honest answer is: whatever feels natural to you. Being selected means joining a small circle of Lapland Travels Ambassadors who help spread the word in their own way:

• Telling friends and classmates about the trip

• Helping us get the word out on campus

• Or taking part in sharing and creating content

• Don't worry, we'll help with that and with finding the best way to do so together.

No experience, portfolio, or existing following required. You don't even need a public Instagram. We'll figure out together what makes sense for you!

The trip is still the star of the show. Being an ambassador is simply our way of building a real community around it, and a chance to be part of something a little bigger than one free trip.

Frequently asked questions

What's included in the prize?

The full base trip, accommodation, transport during the trip, and the activities built into the base itinerary, starting and ending in Helsinki. Either the trip on 28.11-4.12.2026 or 5.12-11.12.2026 depending on availability. The add-on Arctic Ocean Day Trip will also be awarded. Optional paid excursions on top of the base itinerary aren't covered, but can be added on at your own cost if you wish, and prize winners are responsible for arranging their own way to and from Helsinki. If you win and have already purchased a Lapland Arctic Adventure ticket that lands on the same dates, we will refund you!

Do I need to be a ESN, CISSI ry, Ganglion ry, or Integralis ry member to enter?

No. Anyone in the four other eligible groups can enter. Valid student ID and registration is checked for prize eligibility. There are specific prizes reserved for CISSI or Ganglion members only, so if you are a member of one of those organisations, you should enter in that category. Valid membership will be checked. If you are entering as a CISSI or Ganglion member, you must also follow their respective Instagram accounts.

Can I enter more than one category?

Enter under whichever category best describes you. Each person may only submit one entry and can only win once.

Do I need a social media following to enter or win?

No. You do not need a social media following to enter, or even a public profile, and winners are chosen entirely at random. We work with whatever you're comfortable with.

What if I'd rather not do any ambassador activities after winning?

By accepting the prize, we ask winners to take part in this light, flexible role, which you entered a giveaway for, but we keep the ask realistic and always talk it through with you first.

What will I actually be asked to do if I'm selected?

Simple, flexible things: telling friends and classmates about your trip, helping us spread the word on campus, and, creating or being part of our content. There's no fixed script or quota; see "What's a Lapland Travels Ambassador?" above.

Do I need any experience to be chosen?

None at all. No portfolio, no interview, just fill out the entry form and enthusiasm is all we're looking for.

Is being an ambassador a paid job?

No. It isn't employment or paid work, the trip itself is the thank-you, and helping spread the word afterward is an informal, flexible way to stay involved. Full details are in the Official Rules.

When are winners announced?

After 14th Sept 2026, by email, and on @laplandtravels webpage and social media. Politechnika Gdańska category and EU/EEA University category announced after 30th Sept 2026.

What if I already have a Lapland Arctic Adventure Trip with Lapland Travels booked for the same time period?

If you have a Lapland Arctic Adventure trip booked from Lapland Travels for the same period (28.11-4.12.2026 or 5.12-11.12.2026) and are chosen as a winner, our team will help refund the cost of the same overlapping trip.

Is there a cash alternative?

No. Prizes aren't transferable and can't be exchanged for cash or credit.

How long does the ambassador role last?

Just a few months, roughly from when you're selected through about a month after your trip. Your ambassador connections and memories from the trip will last a lifetime!

How are the Ambassadors chosen?

To keep it completely fair, Ambassadors are chosen through a random draw from each of the 6 category pools. As long as you are an active student in that category and complete the entry requirements (form and follows), you have entered to win! Affected by bonus entries from additional social media actions!

OFFICIAL GIVEAWAY RULES & TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. SPONSOR & ORGANIZER This giveaway ("Giveaway") is organized by Lapland Travels (laplandtravels.org), in partnership with CISSI ry, Ganglion ry, and Integralis ry University of Helsinki student associations acting as promotional partners. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta, Instagram, Facebook, or any academic institution, except where Ganglion ry, CISSI ry, and Integralis ry are named above as promotional partners.

2. ELIGIBILITY To enter, you must:

(a) Be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry.

(b) Be currently and actively enrolled and attending as a student in at least one of the following six (6) categories:

1. The University of Helsinki as a current exchange student for the Autumn 2026 semester;

2. Any other verifiable higher education institution in the Helsinki region;

3. Gdańsk University of Technology (Politechnika Gdańska);

4. Any accredited higher education institution within the European Economic Area (EEA).

5. Registered and attending student at University of Helsinki AND registered member of CISSI ry.

6. Registered and attending student at University of Helsinki AND registered member of Ganglion ry.

(c) Submit only one entry. Persons with same or duplicate entries will be disqualified. Bonus entry from tagging will be added automatically onto your initial entry upon completing the bonus entry requirements..

Proof of student status (valid student card, official university email address, and/or enrollment certificate) is required from the four selected winners, prior to prize confirmation.

No prior experience, portfolio, or existing social media presence is required to enter, to be selected, or to take part as an ambassador (see Section 7).

Employees, board members, and immediate family members of Lapland Travels, CISSY ry, Ganglion ry, Integralis ry, or board members or employees of organizations that have competing partnerships, (such as official partnerships with other travel companies) are not eligible to win. Lapland Travels reserves to right and discretion to refuse entries from persons who have conflicts of interest

3. GIVEAWAY PERIOD The Giveaway opens 16 August 2026 at 12:00 (EEST) and closes 14 September 2026 at 23:59 (EEST). Entries received outside this window will not be considered. Lapland Travels reserves the right to extend the giveaway entry period.

4. HOW TO ENTER Official entry (required):

1. Complete and submit the entry form at laplandtravels.org/giveaway, selecting the category that best matches your student status.

2. Follow @lapland.travels on Instagram.

3. Like the official giveaway post.

4. If entering in the CISSI ry or Ganglion ry category, you must also be following @internationalcissi or @ganglion_ry respectively.

Bonus entry (optional — do not affect your ability to enter):

• Tag at least one friend in the comments of the official giveaway post for one extra entry. Tag two friends for another extra entry for a total of maximum two (2) extra entries.

• After completing these actions, and then linking your Instagram handle via the giveaway entry form, you will receive the extra entries in your same category automatically.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

5. PRIZE

Six (6) prizes will be awarded, one per category listed in Section 2.

Each prize is one (1) complimentary spot on one Lapland Arctic Adventure trip, starting and ending in Helsinki, either 28.11.2026-4.12.2026 or 5.12.2026-11.12.2026, depending on availability of the trips and decided by Lapland Travels. Plus, one (1) Arctic Ocean Day Trip activity add-on. The prize has an approximate total retail value of €500.

Included: accommodation, transport during the trip, and the activities and guided tours built into the base itinerary, as listed on the example trip page (laplandtravels.org/lapland-arctic-adventure-trip-1). Additional activity Arctic Ocean Day Trip is also included.

Not included: optional paid excursions offered on top of the base itinerary; personal gear; meals; travel insurance; personal expenses; and travel to and from the Helsinki starting point. Prize winners are responsible for arranging and funding their own travel to and from Helsinki.

Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit.

If a prize cannot be awarded or claimed, Lapland Travels reserves the right to award it to an alternate winner or withdraw it.

Lapland Travels reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the categories (see section 2) that do not have at least 100 individual entries (total number of entries without the additional bonus entry from tagging) in that category, except for categories 5 and 6.

6. WINNER SELECTION & VERIFICATION

One (1) winner is selected by random draw from each category's pool of eligible entries after the Giveaway closes.

The draw takes place after 14 September 2026.

Winners are notified by the email address provided at entry, and announced publicly via @lapland.travels Instagram Stories (first name and initial only, unless the winner agrees to more).

Winners have 48 hours from notification to respond and provide proof of student status and membership in partner organisation. If a winner doesn't respond, can't be verified, or declines within this window, an alternate winner is drawn from the same category.

7. AMBASSADOR ROLE & EXPECTATIONS Selected winners join Lapland Travels' student Ambassador circle for a few months around their trip (from selection through roughly one month after travel). This is intentionally low-key:

No experience, portfolio, or existing social media following is required to enter, to be selected, or to take part.

Ambassador activities are flexible and agreed individually with each winner. Examples include telling friends and classmates about the trip, helping spread the word on campus through materials, and taking part in Lapland Travels' own content (photos, short interviews, trip highlights). Winners with a public social media account are welcome, but not required, to post about their experience there too.

There is no fixed quota, deliverable list, deadline, or minimum number of hours. Lapland Travels works with whatever each winner is comfortable with, and will reach an agreement with each winner before finalizing the prize.

This is an informal collaboration, not an employment or contractor relationship. It does not create wages, employee benefits, or any right to compensation beyond the prize itself.

Winners who choose to post publicly about their trip agree to clearly disclose their relationship with Lapland Travels (for example, "in collaboration with Lapland Travels" or an equivalent statement), consistent with standard advertising-disclosure practice.

By accepting the prize, winners agree to take part in this Ambassador role in the flexible way described above. If a selected winner is unable or unwilling to take part at all, Lapland Travels may treat the prize as declined and select an alternate winner from the same category.

Lapland Travels may photograph, film, and interview ambassadors during the trip, and may use this content (including name, likeness, quotes, photos, and video) in its marketing across web, print, and social channels, on a non-exclusive, royalty-free basis. Ambassadors will be informed when this happens and may raise any concerns with travel@lin-car.fi

Winners are responsible for determining and meeting any personal tax obligations that may arise from accepting this prize. We recommend checking with a tax advisor if you're unsure.

8. META / INSTAGRAM DISCLAIMER This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta Platforms, Inc., Instagram, or Facebook. Information entrants provide is submitted to Lapland Travels, not to Meta. By entering, participants release Meta of any liability connected to this Giveaway.

9. PRIVACY & DATA PROTECTION (GDPR) Personal data submitted through the entry form is processed by Lapland Travels in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and our Privacy Policy. Data collected is used solely to administer the Giveaway (verify eligibility, contact winners), unless an entrant separately opts in to marketing communications via the dedicated checkbox on the entry form. Non-winning entrants' verification data (where applicable) is deleted within six months of the draw. Entrants may access, correct, or request deletion of their data, or unsubscribe from marketing emails by contacting travel@lin-car.fi.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY Lapland Travels reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel this Giveaway in the event of circumstances beyond its reasonable control (including technical failure or force majeure). To the extent permitted by law, Lapland Travels is not liable for loss or damage arising from participation in this Giveaway, the Ambassador role, or from the acceptance or use of a prize, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.

11. DISQUALIFICATION Lapland Travels may disqualify any entrant who submits fraudulent entries, violates these Rules, or attempts to manipulate the Giveaway (e.g., multiple accounts, false student credentials).

12. GOVERNING LAW This Giveaway and these Rules are governed by the laws of Finland.
